Serrano Still Champion After Fast-Paced Battle

Last Sunday in Cleveland, Ohio, WBC and WBO Featherweight Champion Amanda Serrano once again reminded everyone why she is one of the world’s best pound-for-pound fighters when she stepped into the ring against Mexican opponent Yamileth Mercado (18-3). The fast-paced battle aired on Showtime PPV as Serrano led the dance. She went the full 10 rounds to defend her titles, opening up a cut below Mercado’s left eye in the 9th round, and ultimately winning by unanimous decision. This marks her 41st win, bringing her record to 41-1-1, with 30 victories by way of knockout.

On the same card, Welterweight Kandi Wyatt (10-3, 3 KO's) lost by unanimous decision in a spirited 8 round battle against Alma Ibarra (9-1-0).
Tragedy Strikes the Boxing Community

The entire boxing community is filled with sadness as we learned yesterday evening of the passing of 18 year old Mexican boxer Jeanette Zacarias Zapata.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeanette’s family, friends and loved ones, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences.
